Happiness Always

I've been wanting to get the CardMaker's Sketch Book Birthday Celebration for a while now, I've got the first one, but somehow had never got around to it. Last week I was on Amazon for something completey different and eventually bought it. I could wait for it to arrive and to get started, the only thing is you want to do them all (which I will) but not on the same day. I've used one of the sketches for this card and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

These books are great for when you get stuck and have a bit of a brain freeze and there is loads of inspiration in them.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #44 - Fathers Day

It was my turn to set the challenge this week, and with it being Fathers Day soon I decided that was the perfect choice. However it had to be more than a card. You can interpret that anyway you want to, if it's not Fathers Day in your neck of the woods then something for a man (any man) will do.

I used this gorgeous paper from a Craftworks Cards Goody bag and I have no idea what it's called. If you know please let me know because I would love to get some more. Head on over to Cupcakes Craft Challenge and check out the DT's cards.

CPS #119

Kay Miller and Kay Carley on the same card, how fab is that? This is my attempt at the CPS challenge this week. I normally try and get it done on the Sunday but I had another project I was working on so I've only just got round to doing it last night. I think the the Backing Paper and the Stamps work so well together.

The brads that I used for the 3 flowers were silver, but I used some dries clear glue and dipped them into the glitter pot. You may need to click on the picture to get a better look.

Supplies Used:
1. Card - White from Stash, SU! Brilliant Blue Textured CS
2. Papers - Kay Miller's Over the Rainbow
3. Stamps - Kay Carley's Aspects of Design Funky Flowers
4. Embellishments - Organza Ribbon from The Stamp Man, SU! Silver Brads, SU! Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
5. Tools - Aqua Painter,
6. Mediums - SU! Classic Stampin' Pads

Bordering Blue Meets Paisley

Have you ever looked at a colour and thought yeah, ok. Then actually used it and thought Wow! Bordering Blue was my yeah, ok colour and now I just love it. I've used the Paisley Background stamp on Whisper White, I tried it on coloured card using coloured inks and VersaMark on Kraft but it didn't quite have the effect I was looking for. Next I'll try white on colour and see what that's like.

I used white grosgrain ribbon which I put on the ink pad and covered with a piece of sponge then holding the sponge down I pulled the ribbon through at an even pace to colour in Bordering Blue. I find this works better than using MArkers as you get an even coverage and a perfect colour match.

Supplies Used:
1. Card - White from Stah, SU! Whisper White and Bordering Blue CS and Textured CS
2. Papers - None
3. Stamps - SU! Paisley Background Stamp and SU! Wonderful Words
4. Embellishments - SU! White Grosgrain Ribbon coloured with SU! Bordering Blue Ink Pad
5. Tools - SU! Piercing Tool and Template
6. Mediums - SU! Classic Stampin' Pad Bordering Blue

Home Decor

We're in the process of doing our Bedroom up, 2nd last room to do in the house. The other day when I made the topper for my Papertake Weekly card using Kay Carley's Funky Flowers, OH said that he really liked it, and it got me thinking. As a result here is part 1 of 3. I had to take the photo at a funny angle so as not to get any reflection.

I realy enjoyed making this, the wood was just a bare pine but I used my Close to Cocoa Ink Pad and I think it turned out really well. The picture is very plain and simple but if you know me then you'll know that that's exactly what I like.

Supplies Used:
1. Card - White from Stash, SU! Close to Cocoa and Bordering Blue Textured 12 x 12 CS
2. Papers - None
3. Stamps - Kay Carley's Aspects of Design Funky Flowers
4. Embellishments - Gems from Stash
5. Frame - 12 x 12 Deep Frame
6. Mediums - SU! Classic Stampin' Pads and Aqua Painter

Cupcake Craft Challenge #43 - Colour Challenge

This week's challenge is a colour challenge given to us by Ida. Now I haven't done many Colour Challenges before so please bear this in mind when you read the rest of this post.

Colour Challenge

What a challenge it was! I really struggled with this one. I made 3 cards on Saturday and just didn't like them at all, I eventually gave up and decided I would start over again on Sunday Morning. So I got up and did this card in about 20 minutes. I'm thinking that maybe I should have just done something else completely on Saturday because I don't think my Mojo was around at all. And to top it off, I've just realised that the challenge was also a card for kids. Oh well, kids have friends too! don't they? We'll just imagine that this is for a very mature kid.

Do have a look at the rest of the Design Team's cards, at least everyone else read the instructions better than I did.

Supplies Used:
1. Card - SU! Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, and Yoyo Yellow CS
2. Papers - Over te Rainbow by Kay Miller
3. Stamps - SU! Occasional Greetings
4. Embellishments - On Board Blossoms and Basics chipboard Photo Corners
5. Tools - Paper Piercing Tool and Template from the SU! Crafter's Tool Kit
6. Mediums - SU! Stampin' Write Markers

Thank You Helen

I got these two lovely awards from Helen, now I'm sure as everybody knows I'm notoriuos for not returning the favour when it comes to Blog Awards. It's not intentional I promise, it's just that I keep thinking I'll do it later and then something else comes up, or I can't think who to pass them onto etc, you know all the "time related excuses". Well I promised Helen I would post straight away and so here I am.

I'm passing both these awards onto the Ladies who have given me Awards in the last few months to which I've not passed on again as a way of saying sorry, and that I did appreciate them thinking of me. If you were one of these Ladies please take these awards and leave me a comment so I know who you are and I'll go look for the award you originally gave me and post it on my Blog and I'll add your name here too.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #42 - Fairies

It was Evelina's turn to set the challenge this week and and she has chosen the theme "Fairies". All you have to do is have a Fairy or a few present on your card or project. Can't wait to see all the wonderful creations. I've had these stamp sets for a little while now and haven't really had the time to play with them properly so I thought this was a pefect opportunity.

I tried a little stitching on my card, very basic but it was fun. I of course had to change my whole card layout because I decided to do it at the last minute and had already matted everything up. Never the less it was a lesson learnt and next time I'll do the stitching first. Do have a look at the rest of the Design Team's cards and I'm sure everyone has something with fairies so there's no excuse for not joining us this week.
