DMC - Prints Charming

The Dare this week at DMC is Patterned Paper Passion - they want to see 3 different patterned papers on our cards. And to be extra daring, why not see if we can use 3 different lines of paper! Well this paper is just so scrummy there's no way I couldn't not use the same line.

I'd like to point out that this card was made with a certain person in mind, you know who you are!

Supplies Used:
1. Cardstock - SU Pretty in Pink Textured Card
2. Papers - SU Petals and Paisley Designer Series Papers
3. Image - Sugar Nellie Daisy
4. Sentiment - SU Circle of Friends set
5. Flowers - Prima
6. Brads - SU Soft Subtles and Bold Brights
7. Gems - From Stash
8. Tools - SU Distressing Tool

Photo Fun

I've been Tagged by my SU Sister Steph, thanks Steph. I'm going to have to start calling her Super Steph, she gets so much done, I can hardly keep up and I don't even have kids in the house. I have to go my Picture File, open the 6th Folder and pick the 6th Photo.

I could have guessed so easily that it would be a picture of my adorable Grandson Ethan. Nearly every photo I own is of Ethan. This is on one of his visits a month before they moved back to South Africa. Actually my son moved back and Becky and Ethan went for the first time. I miss him so much and can't wait for them to be back for a visit in March. You'll know when they are here because there will be loads of photo's.

Now to Tag Wendy, Deb, Toni, Gina, Lorraine and Lorraine.

Sugar Bowl Challenge #2 is Three

Here is my 2nd Sugar Bowl Challenge Card. This has taken me ages as firstly I'm currently very limited as to Sugar Nellie Stamps (I hope to rectify that pretty soon) and secondly I really wanted to use 3 images. I found the card template over at SCS and this is what I came up with. I made the card and concentrated so much on the 3 images that when I was finished my card only had 2 papers and 2 embellishments. I had to then come up with another paper and embelishmet very quickly. I added the orange gem to the sentiment and my 3rd paper is on the inside. It all worked out in the end.

The Inside and the Tags

Blog Award

I got an award! Thank you Wendy. I'm not normally very good at dishing them back out again, I either get so busy that's it's hard to find the time to create the post with links and then let everyone know you've given it to them. But because this is a new year I'm doing it right now. No excuses!

There are no rules with this award just to pass it onto five other bloggers. So here they are in no particular order:
5. Toni

Blog Candy Delux

Marlene is celebrating 235,000 visitors and her 1st Blogoversary on the 30th. That is a lot of visitors in just one year. But then again anyone who knows Marlene or been to her blog will understand how that has so easily happened. She has some fantastic Candy to give away so go on over and have a look.

A birthday Card

Here's the Birthday card I did for Colin's Sister 3 weeks ago, I completely forgot to post it. The cupcakes on the table stamp is the perfect size for Tilda. The icing on the cakes has been glittered and they look so yummy.

This is the inside of the card, I was very please with the result and so was the recipient.

Supplies Used:
1. Card - SU Chocolate Chip
2. Papers - SU Tea and Crumpets
3. Stamps - Tilda by Magnolia and SU Crazy for Cupcakes
4. Glitter - SU Stampin Glitter
5. Ribbon - SU Chocolate Chip1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Something A Bit Different!

I am so pleased with the outcome of this card. I just love these stamps! The flower stamp is from the Mr & Mrs Set which I stamped onto White card stock using the Mellow Moss stamp pad, then coloured using the Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery Markers. The Butterflies are from the Happiness Always Level 3 Hostess stamp set. The dotted strip at the top is a border from the Love Stories Simply Scrappin' set. I'm not a green person at all (except when it comes to Steph's Triple Stacker Unit!!) but I think these greens and pink go so well together.

Supplies Used:
1. Card - SU Pretty In Pink Card Stock, White Card from Stash
2. Stamps - SU Mr & Mrs, and Happiness Always stamp sets
3. Colours - SU Mellow Moss, Certainly Celery, and Pretty In Pink
4. Buttons - SU Soft Subtles

DCM - Give It Some Heart

I just had to jump right in when I saw what this weeks dare was over at Daring Card Makers. I had the perfect stamp to use, and what is even better, is it's from a freebie stamp set. This must have been the quickest and easiest card I've made in ages.

Supplies Used:
1. Card - SU Real Red Textured Card & White from Stash
2. Stamp - SU Polka Dot Punches Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set
3. Colours - SU Real Red Stampin Pad and Marker
4. Ribbon - SU Real Red 5/8" Gosgrain Ribbon
5. Button - SU Bold Brights
6. Other - SU White Stampin' Emboss Powder
7. Punch - Crafts Too Heart Punch

2nd Baby Card

Well here's the other card I said I had, it's Blue of course! Very similiar to the card I posted yesterday except this one was my first attempt but I made a few mistakes on it and that's why I ended up doing two. Mistakes can easily be covered up but sometimes they upset the balance and the card just doesn't have the same affect anymore. I'm not one for doodling but I had a go and it's not too bad.

Supplies Used:

1. Card Stock - White from Stash, SU Bashful Blue

2. Stamps - SU Nursery Necessities

3. Ribbon - SU Bashful Blue Tafetta Ribbon

4. Stamp Pads - SU Bashful Blue

5. Other Items - SU Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder

Just another .....

...card to share. I know I said I would use a different colour next time but I just couldn't help myself. I really enjoyed playing with these stamps! Watch this space as there will be some pink baby cards arriving in the next week or so.

I didn't use any patterned papers for these cards, I stamped some white card stock for the background used on both cards. The letter background I stamped using the Jumbo Wheel onto white card and then went over it with a marker. The doodling was done with SU Markers and what fabby markers they are too!

I've got another card to show but it will have to wait as I can't get a decent photo at the moment. Oh and guess what colour it is!

Supplies Used:
1. Card Stock - White from Stash, SU Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery
2. Stamps - SU Nursery Necessities
3. Ribbon - SU Bashful Blue Tafetta Ribbon
4. Stamp Pads - SU Bashful Blue
5. Other Items - SU Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder

Monday 5 January 2009

I haven't been blogging since the middle of December. Christmas and work pretty much kept me busy, but I have done quite a few things I've been meaning to do for ages but never seemed to have the time.

One of those is my Siggy, it's really easy to do but until you've actually done it, you don't realise how easy it is. I'm really chuffed with it! Another reason why it's taken so long to do is that I couldn't quite find the font that I thought best represented my handwriting. The one I finally used is called Liorah BT which actually slants forward. I managed to manipulate this in CS3 and voila I now have a backward slanting font that I'm really happy with.

Using my Siggy I've also created Brushes in CS3 to watermark photo's of my Cards and Photo's that I take. You can see the card stamp in the post below.

I've swapped my Craft room around, which was no easy feat. Everything on the Right hand side of the Room is now on the Left side of the Room. Only problem is that I have so much stuff in my room that I ended up moving everything around and around the room till they finally ended up where they were meant to be. The only thing I can think of that closely resembled what I went through is a Rubik Cube. It took me 3 day's! The room that is, not the cube.

I got so behind with my Christmas cards that I was still handing them to my neighbours on Christmas Eve. Well I've decided to do next Christmas differently. Instead of making different ones, I'm going to give everyone the same but with minor variations. I've designed the card already and the variations are going to be in size and colour.

Sugar Bowl Challenge #1

How fitting to kick start my 2009 challenges with this one for the Sugar Bowl and what a great sketch. Not only that but there's a chance to win not one set, not two sets, but THREE sets of Letraset Promarkers. I know I would love to have these. I used one of my new fabulous Leanne Ellis stamps that I bought just before Christmas.

Supplies Used:
1. A mix of Kay Miller Papers
2. Leanne Ellis Luvvie Stamp
3. Buttons from Stash
4. Ric-Rac from Bits Stash
5. Sentiment from Thank You Clear Stamp set
