Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch Challenge!

This week Papertake are doing a Sketch ! And it's their first one! I think Katherina did a great job with one and I hope they have more Sketch Challenges.

For this card I used Gina Jane's Cottage Roses Paper Pack, I created the Happy Bithday Circle in my Graphic's programme again using one of the papers from the pack. I stamped my Favourite Daisy stamp onto the same paper coloured the edges using a Sakura Stardust pen attached with Silicon.
Gina's papers are available from Daisie Company and the Stamp is from the Aspects of Design 28 - Double Delights Stamp set from The Stamp Man.

My Paper World Sketch #7 - Another One!

Thought I'd do another card for this Sketch. The card is Pearlescent so doesn't photograph too well.

The papers are from Christine Beasley's Classic Moments Kit available from Digital Scrapbook Pages. The stamp is from Woodware's Baby Zone Clear stamps which I coloured using Pastel Crystal Laquers.

CPS #57

Here's this weeks CPS Sketch, I must say that this was one of my quickest cards yet. I already had the Penny Black "Labour of Love" stamped image and was halfway through painting it with Twinkling H2O's.

All I had to do was finish off the painting, mount onto red card, add the ribbon and wrap my Crimson Pink Petticoat Doodleicious Rainbow paper around my card. If you look at the card you might see that the backing paper isn't stuck down.

My Paper World Sketch #7

Here's my take on this week's sketch. I think I may just attempt another one as I'm not 100% happy with this one.

The papers that I used come from Amanda Thorderson's Head Over Heels Kit available from Digital Scrapbook Pages. The Flower Image was actually cut out of one of the Backing Papers in the kit, I then drew in a stem with my Hunters Green Sakura gel pen. The Butterfly is a wooden button which I painted with Twinkling H2O's to match the Card Stock that I used for the Matting of the image.

Wendy`s Sketch Challenge 2

Here's my take on Wendy's second Sketch Challenge. I actually enjoyed this one even though I'm not a Circles Person. I try to avoid them whenever I can, but I might just do more of them now!

I used Papers from Cens Stuff's Ingebors Garden Kit availalable from Scrappin Digi Kreations (SDK). The stamps are once again from the Daisy Display stamps from The Stamp Man, coloured using my Whispers Brush Pens.

Arty Girlz Challenge #26

And this week's challenge is.... Doodling! "So gel pens at the ready ;) You could doodle a border, maybe some dots, doodle the whole creation or use a doodling stamp if you'd prefer....as always the choice is yours :)" Here's my Bright and Bold take on the challenge.

I Printed the Doodles onto the Yellow Backing Paper and then painted using Twinkling H2O's, which the photo doesn't quite show up, I then reworked the Doodles with a Black Sakura Gel Pen.

'

'Now I'm not usually a Yellow and Orange kind of person, but I found these stunning papers in Eugenia Bacon's Ecstatic Sunshine Kit and just had to do something with them. This Kit is available from Digital Scrapbook Pages. The Birthday Wishes doodle is from Kirstens Birthday Doodles kit and the flower and frame doodles are from the Gelato Kit both by Kirsten Peters McGrath and are available from Daisie Company.

Cute Card Thursday #2

All Creatures Great and Small! This is this weeks Challenge. I did a really simple card his week as you can see. I basically only used White Card Stock, a peice of blue pearl card, a scrap of white card, 4 crystal stickers elements, some ribbon, three stamps, Twinkling H2O's to colour the image and a stamp pad for edging.
'

The Stamps are from the New! Cute Companions stamp range, designed by Jane Nestorenko for Crafters Companion.

Neice's Birthday Card

I went surfing the other day looking for inspiration for a Niece's card that I had to make. I found this tutorial on making a Carousel Notes Purse Book and just knew straight away that was the one! Click here to see the Tutorial, obviously mines not as good as Jan's but there you are. I must say I really enjoyed doing this project and will definitely be doing more.

Here is the Front of the Book and the Matching Box that I made, the Ribbon has a Velcro clasp so it doesn't need to be untied.

I used Eugenia Bacon's Floral Fling Kit for the Backing Papers and a Frame from her Ecstatic Sunshine Add-on Designer Sampler from Digital Scrapbook Pages. The Dragonfly is a stamp from Elusive Images Damask Squares Themeplate. The Doodle Frame is from Kirsten's Birthday Doodles kit available from Daisie Company.

Wendy`s Sketch Challenge 1

I've been really busy this week, done quite a few cards but it's finding the time to the take photo's, crop and save them, and then post.

Here's my First catchup, Wendy invited me to try her 1st Sketch, I made the card almost immediately. Here's my take and looking forward to the next one.

I used two papers from Kathryn Estry's Bodacious Borders and Bears Kit available from Digital Scrapbook pages. I also used some Ribbon, Crystal stickers, a flower and button, the Stamp is one of my new Stamps Away Individual stamps.

NEC Hobby Craft Show Birmingham

NEC! What can I say, besides Ouch! I had a great time, met up with friends and spent a small fortune. Just how many Ribbons and Stamps does one person need?
'

I went for a few mixed bags, as they have ribbons and colours that I wouldn't normally go for. Those are the ones you always need for a certain card but don't have. With all the Ribbons I already have and my latest aquisitions I will be very suprised if I don't find what I'm looking for.
'

Above are Templates, Card, Paper, some fabulous scalloped embossed frames, and then a load of general equipment and consumables.

And finally I left the best till last, Stamps, stamps and more stamps!

Best buy of the day? I would have to say a Clear Plastic Ruler with Measurements and lines on, and a Metel edge on one side. Bought that for £2.99. Having just been playing with it I can honestly say my Metal rulers are going in the bin. No more cutting to close or chopping bits off, because you can see exactly where your image is.

CPS #55

Here's this weeks CPS Sketch, if I hurry I might just get it in before the next Sketch LOL. I've only just realised that the card more or less matches the CPS Blog! Not Intentional I assure you. I realy enjoyed this sketch and did a lot more than I usually do. I actually stamped, haven't done that for ages.

The Striped paper is from Ronna Penner's "In the Pink" Kit which I got from Daisie Company, I made the Green background paper by picking up the darkest part of the flower in a matching paper, using my Graphics Program. I Inked around the edges of everything except the ribbons, used a Rub-on for the Sentiment and finally I used one of Kay Carley's Daisy Display stamps from The Stamp Man.

My Paper World Sketch #6

Last night while I was catching up on leaving Blog Comments I discovered "My Paper World" and decided to do the Sketch. I had a good look around and think that Nicola's cards are so fresh and inspiring, and they all look so professional. I'm definitely going to be watching this site from now on.
'

Well here's my sketch and I decided to use Coloured Card for a change instead of the boring old white which I normally cover with Backing Paper. I matted and layered some backing papers from another newly discovered site, Prima Hybrid. I used Nancy Kubo's So Sweet Paper Collection and the Elephant Image from her Totally Sweet Doodles kit. Nancy's work is really fab, I'm very impressed with her graphics and images and will most definitely be waiting eagerly for her next Kit's.

Arty Girlz Challenge #25

"This week's challenge is 'Stars' so you could literally use Star shapes or do a creation based on a film star etc....as always we love to see the different ways that you all interpret our themes."
'
'
I decided this was the perfect opportunity to show off the STAR Card that I made for our niece's birthday. I used Cara Bradshaw's Thinking of You Kit from PC Crafter. The Images in this kit are so fab. Here's the Front Cover and the Box I made to present it in.
'

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Frame Card Tutorial

Here's my attempt at the Frame Card Challenge fr Papertake Weekly. I must admit I rather enjoyed doing this, I do have a go few times but this is the one I settled on. I'm staying with the Cute Theme this week in case anyone didn't notice, you can't go too wrong with Babies either.
'

I once again used Eline's Babies Bath and Bedtime Kit, from Daisie Company, but for Boy's this time.

Cute Card Thursday #1

New Beginnings, very aptly named is the First challenge on the new Challenge Blog "Cute Card Thursday". As long as your card is cute, you can pretty much do what you want. Here's my take - and I'm pretty sure that my Flowerpot Baby Girl is cute enough to qualify! Anyone that's interested in joining in, the Link is under Challenges to the Left.
'

I've used Backing Papers and the Flowerpot Baby image from Eline's Babies Bath and Bedtime Girls Kit, from Daisie Company.

Sketch This Cards: 44

Here's this weeks card sketch from Sketch This. I was a bit stuck as it's my Partners Birthday today and I hate to say this but I'm not very good when it comes to mens cards. Well I hope he likes it.
'

For this card I once again used Funky Hands - Now that's Funky CD, the colour option is called Mans World. I couldn't find a thin ribbon to match so I used a thicker one but twisted it, it now looks round which the photo hasn't quite picked up. I also created a matching insert and envelope liner.

CPS #54

Here's my Take on the CPS Challenge for last Sunday, I saw this sketch and just loved it straight away.
'

I've used AJ Roberts Baby Love Papers Pack 1 and the Flowerpot Baby image from Eline's Babies Bath and Bedtime Girls Kit, both are from Daisie Company. I added a chipboard Sentiment from Dovecraft with a Pink Sain Ribbon threaded through it.

Di Hickman Card Sketch - February #4

I used Di Hickmans Card Sketch to create this years Mothers Day Card. The papers are once again from Funky Hands new CD " Now That's Funky".
'
The Colour range is "Warm Coco", all the elements are from the CD except the Ribbon, decided to add some of my own only because I had some Satin Ribbon that matched.

Arty Girlz Challenge #23

This week's challenge is 'Circles' so anything goes as long as there is a circle somewhere on your creation..... could be buttons, brads, eyelets, circles in patterned paper etc.... I saw this and thought "Oh No!" but then I got my Latest Funky Hand CD and thought Wow! It's funny how the Challenges you don't expect to enjoy turn out the Best!

I just love these colour combinations and the papers are so gorgeous! The are all off Funky Hands latest CD "Now that's Funky" the colour range is called "Pretty in Pink", Anice does come up with some Brilliant names for her Colour Ranges. All elements are off the CD including the Ribbon.
