CPS #39

Here's my take on this week's CPS Sketch. I did it slightly different by adding the word Christmas instead of an embellishment.

This Penny Black Stamp set is just so cute, I coloured it using Twinkling H2O's and some Diamond Stickles. I did the word CHristmas using a Red Sakura Stardust pen and then going over it with the Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue. The red underneath gives it a lovely gold shimmer.

DCM - Golden Highlights

Here's one that's actually on Time, I'm not a Gold Person myself unless I'm wearing it! I really enjoyed this one. Keryn set the Dare and this is what she had to say:
Going back over my cards I seem to have a liking for gold as an accent colour. So this week I'd like you to make a card for any season or occasion but must include gold somewhere. It could be a brad, metallic card, heat embossing, ribbon, anything at all as long as it's gold.

Well here's my attempt, I used Pink Petticoat backing paper from the Doodle-Icious Christmas Rainbow set, I coloured the white lines of the backing paper with a Gold Sakura Gelly Roll Pen. The images are from the "O Christmas Tree" set, and again I used Sakura Gelly Roll Pens to colour.

DCM - Santa's Little Extra Helper #3

Snowmen and Snowflakes
Another late post, but there you are this is going to be the story of my life until the "Training Rollout" is finished, got a heavy schedule and lots of time away from home for the next couple of month's.
'

The backing paper is from Daisie Company, Victoria Hutto's Holiday Patterns Paper Kit, I think this paper and the colours are just fab, I love it! I've "Stickled" some of the snowflakes using the Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue. That Stamp again!, this time I used Sakura Gel Pens only.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Snowy Days!

Another Late one! And another Stamp I got at the NEC on Sunday. I think your going to be seeing a lot of this one, I think it is so fab. This weeks challenge is Snow! Snowy scenes, snowmen, snowflakes etc etc. Come on everyone! Let it snow!!
'

Again I used scraps from my box, this time I used Daisie Company, Victoria Hutto's Holiday Patterns Paper Kit, and that fab stamp which I embossed using Kaleidescope Embossing Powerd on Smoke Blue Versa Color Ink and then coloured with Sakura Gel Pens.

Sketch This: Cards: 32

It's amazing how quickly you get used to using the PC for crafting. My Magenta cartridge ran out last week and my printer won't print until it's replaced, so I've had to use what was available. Normally I go straight to the PC and decide which papers to use and then print them, then I wonder why I have so much scrap paper. I think I'm going to make December and possibly January my "Get rid of the Scraps" Month/s.

I used some scrap paper and the border is from a goody bag I got on Sunday at the NEC, the Daisy Stamp is from The Stamp Man's Double Delights Unmounted Stamps.

Sketch This: Cards: 31

This one is really late, but I did the card earlier in the week and thought it such a shame not to post it.

It was such a simple card to make, I used a piece of Backing paper from a Magazine Freebie, a piece of Ribbon and Punched out 4 Christmas Tree's from Pink Petticoat's "O Christmas Tree" Image stamps after painting them with Twinkling H2O's.

CPS #38

I'm really late with this one I know, but I'm trying desparetly to catch up. Made it on Tuesday but it was too dark to take a picture, then I couldn't find my memory stick for the camera. Any way here it is better late than never.....

Pink Petticoat Doodle-Icious Christmas Rainbow paper for the background and a Penny Black Stamp. I've been after this set of stamps for ages and manged to get them at the NEC on Sunday.

Di Hickman Card Sketch - October #5

Here is the last October Sketch for Di Hickman. You know how it takes ages to decide on your design, then make it, take photo's, crop and resize, then finally load them to your post. And once that's all done, you realise you should have done it differently......
'

I used the same Daisie Company papers, Victoria Hutto's Holiday Patterns Paper Kit, and card from Paper Mania's Colossal Colour Card Pack.

And CUT!

On Daring Card Makers Challenge this week its Tracie setting the dare and it is to make a card and CUT!
Any theme goes, so for those of you needing a break from Christmas crafting this is the perfect opportunity to have a change. All styles are welcome but there MUST be an element of handcutting somewhere. It could be a greeting, a shape, letters printed on your pc and handcut, anything goes as long as you did it by hand.
'
I obviously decided not to take the break and created a Christmas Card. The Letters and Bauble were cut by Hand, all other cutting was done using my guilotine.
'

I have again used Daisie Company for my papers. This time I used Victoria Hutto's Holiday Patterns Paper Kit. I used one of the Papers from the kit to create the Letters in my Graphics Program. I used another Paper to create the Bauble using Donna Glenn's 5 Ornament Tag Template.

Final Winner

And the winner is...... Snowcloud, congratulations. Please e-mail me your address and I'll get it in the mail for you.
'
Thank you to all that played, and I do hope you'll come back every now and again to see my progress. I quite enjoyed that and so may do something similiar agian but not on a daily basis, perhaps a monthly draw from all comments posted, so do watch out for that.

Tagged by Louise, Sally and Dawn

Thank you to both Louise (Loublous Carfty Home), Sally (Sally's Stuff) and Dawn (All Pink Girl) for tagging me. You see these things going around and sort of feel left out when everybody else is getting tagged. Then you read an e-mail telling you your tagged, and a big smile appears on your face. LOL.
'
1) If you could have 100.00 pounds worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?
I would want to be gready and have both! But, if I couldn't be my typical normal self I would have to say embellishments.
'
2) If you had to choose between using only stamps or rubons which would you choose?
I would have to choose stamps, there's only so much you can do with rub-ons, whereas stamps have no limits.
'
3) If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts, but could only do one for a year which would you do?
That would definately have to be Cards, I love making them and I love giving them. For obvious reasons I try to avoid the camera so we don't have an awful lot of photo's to scrap.
'
4)Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home (can't have both, lol)
I would say a Store, I would test all the merchandise first, and probably end up moving in to the store room.
'
5) And then last but not least, what is your current cardmaking or scrapping style?
I'm still trying to find my style, but if I had to describe it currently I would say it's more plain and simple than anything else.
'
Now I have to pick 5 people to Tag, here they are in no particular order:
'

The papers are from a Kit that I bought but not sure where or when, the cirles and matting layers is card from a DCWV mat stack, and I added some stickers to spell SUPRISE.

Card Sketch October #3

Another Di Hickman'sCard Sketch. I really enjoy doing the sketches and for this one I've been very daring and deviated ever so slightly from the sketch.

I used card and velum from a variety pack, ribbon, and two stickers from a Sticker and Ribbon kit I bought months ago. I didn't have a photo corner so I had to make one and I think it turned out pretty well.

Arty Girlzs Challenge #5

I really enjoyed this challenge although the card is my second attempt. I started one and halfway through I decided it just wasn't working! I'm much happier with this one.
'
This week's challenge is 'stitches'...feel free to interpret our theme's any way you choose.....you could do real stitching, faux stitching, use the word 'stitches', sew a button on your project...it's entirely up to you ;)
'
'
I used Pink Petticoat Papers from Little Fleurs and Rainbow Doodle. I also used the Stamp 'n' Stitch Butterfly Stamp from Elusive Images.

Sketch This: Cards: 28

Here is this weeks Sketch This: Cards, I love the colours but I can't help thinking there is something missing!
'

I used Backing Papers from another Daisy Company Kit, this one is Julie's Hearts, Hugs and Kisses, the Sentiment from the same kit, was printed onto a Funky Hand (It's Funky Too) backing paper that I had printed onto card.

DCM - Santa's Little Extra Helper #2

The minute I saw Daring Card Makers Extra Challenge today, I knew exactly what I was going to be doing.
'
"O Christmas Tree. O Christmas Tree" Want to guess what needs to be featured on your cards this week? Yes, we want to see lots and lots of Christmas Trees - that should help you get those stocks of cards looking a bit healthier.
'

I used Pink Petticoat's "O Christmas Tree" Papers and Image Stamp, there was no doubt in my mind when I saw "O Christmas Tree. O Christmas Tree" as to which papers I would be using.

CPS#35

Here's my take on this weeks sketch, I must say it's getting a bit easier. It must be all the practice! I think you learn alot through the sketches because you seem to go back and compare your own work to others. I've seen some very obvious mistakes I've made on some of my past cards and some not so obvious. I won't mention which ones, I might be here all day!

The papers are from a fab little kit I found at Scrap-Shop France, Amelies Scrap "Sea", the Brown flower started off yellow, but I used Twinkling H2O's to match the paper.

Ultimate - Day 5

Today is Day 5, and as you should know by now I have an Ultimate to Give away. Please leave a comment here to be in Day 5's Daily Draw. I have also reconsidered who is eligible, but have to limit it to UK and US Crafters.

Saturday Stamper - Pink Ribbon

What a fun challenge this week. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month Saturday Stamper wants us to create a card using Pink Ribbon, any colour pink as long as it's on our Project. We can also do our bit by clicking daily, my link is to the left under "Think Pink".

I got my new Daisy Jar stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms yesterday, along with some more Twinkling H2O's, that now brings my twinkly stash up to 60. This was the perfect opportunity to use both, I think that Pink (Baby's Breath) is a stunning colour. Aren't the names of the colours just brilliant, the matching blue is called Navajo Pearl.

DCM - Where the Wild Things Are

The Challenge at DCM today has been set by Kathy. The theme is ANIMAL and you can use anything that's animal inspired - not those diddy little ones like bugs, birds and butterflies (though you can include them in your design of course) but what I'd really like to see is bigger, wilder, more fabulous or fantastic creatures.
'
I have a lovely little Elephant stamp that I bought a couple of weeks ago, and have been waiting for an excuse to use. This was the perfect opertuniy but do you think I can find it, No! Worst of all though is OH was with me when I bought so I know I haven't hidden it anywhere!
'
So I did these instead, I love these Decoupage kits, they are so easy to do. This first one is Barbara's Decoupage Wait for me!... Kit, and yes you guessed it, it's from Daisy Company.
'
I've left the top of the card open because my idea is to to either put the name of the person getting the card, or a different sentiment like "We're Moving" or something like that.

This next card is Barbara's Swinging Around Z Card, graphics by Sarah Minor, another Daisy Company Kit, it was included in the Club D.A.I.S.Y. October Issue.

I Crystal Lacquered the Banana's and the Tree Trunk.

Di Hickman Card Sketch - October #2

I was looking thought the Daisy Company Shop last night looking for something interesting and came upon this Kit. After I had downloaded it and saw the graphics I just knew it would be perfect for this Sketch.
'
'
The Kit is "Sandi's The Boo Crew" graphics by Sandi Gore Evans. This is another one of those cards that looks good due to it's simplicity. I'm really pleased with this!

Arty Girlzs Challenge #4

This week's Arty Girlzs Challenge is "Glueless". In other words the Girlzs would like us to use another medium other than our usual pva's, glue sticks and double sided tape.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I'm really pleased with the result. Again I've gone for something very Plain and Simple. I cut 4 slits into my Base Card and slipped a corner of the backing paper into each one. I then cut out two Patterned Tags, Stamped a Single Daisy 3 times using the masking technique, attached both with Brads and edged the card with Chocolate Brown Ink.

For the Backing Paper I used one from Manuela Zimmermann's The Circle of Life Kit from Daisy Company. I overlayed it with the doodle (from the same kit) on both corners and then shrunk it down to size before printing. The Daisy Stamp is from The Stampman's Double Delights Unmounted Stamps

CPS#34

Have you ever been in the mood for something and it's not turned out quite how you expected? Well I was in the mood for Bright, Blossomy and Colourful today, but once finished I wasn't quite happy with the result. So I did a second card... but it seems it might just be one of those days, because I'm not too happy with this one either.
'
This one here is my second attempt, I used Pink Petticoats Doodeleicious Papers and some Pearlescent card.
'

This one was my First Attempt and the Cupcakes just didn't have the effect I expected. Like they say, not everything works out. But then again, there just might be someone out there that really likes them! I also used Pink Petticoats Doodeleicious Papers and Cupcake Image Stamps.

DCM - Santa's Little Extra Helper #1

Christmas Words - We'd like you to use Christmassy words on your card, not just in the sentiment but for this challenge the word/s should form the main focus of your card.
'

Here's my take on this one. Quick, Plain and Simple. "Snow" is definitely the focus of the card, in fact it's practically the only focus to the Card. I used Victoria Hutto's "Let it Snow Part II" Background Papers for both the background and the Letters. The Kit is from Daisy Company.

Saturday Stamper - DPOV

Here's another New Challenge Blog, for me that is. Saturday Stampers DPOV- “different point of view”, we need to do two or more creations using the same stamp, to see how different we can all use our stamps. That's the Challenge.
'
My First Card I used Artylicious Butterfly Bliss Papers. I stamped the largest of the "Just Butterflies Unmounted Rubber Stamp Themeplate", onto Card and Vellum, embossed both of them using JudiKins Lapis Lazul Embossing Powder, and then painted them using Twinkling H2O's. I cut a piece of Chipboard and painted that aswell.

For this Second one I once again used Artylicious Butterfly Bliss Papers and stamped the same Butterfly onto White Card using Pearlescent Lavender Brilliance Ink. I cut it out and Glued down flat onto the Finished Base Card.

Sketch This: Cards

Well I did it! I ummed and ahhed about it for a week then finally decided at the last minute to do it. So now it's done. These are the two cards that I've sent in as an application for the Sketch This: Cards Design Team. I'm not really expecting much to come of it as there are some really good designers out there and it's my first time of doing anything like this. If you don't try you'll never know, so I've tried.

This first card was made using Artylicious Damask Delights Papers, a flower I had in my Bit's Box, a large Brad, some edging and a Rub-On.
'

This second card was made using Eline's Babies Bath & Bedtime Kit from Daisy Company.

Good Luck to All who have applied.

First Scrap Page (Digital)

I've found a way of not blatantly subjecting everyone to Baby Photo's, so here is my very first digital scrap page. I'm very new to scrapping as you'll notice, and decided to leave this page slightly on the plain side, only because I don't know what I'm doing. Do busier pages come with time?
'
For the layout I used Eline's Babies Bath and Bedtime Kit from Daisy Company.

Caardvarks Got Paint! Challenge

PAINT! Brush it on, stamp it on, crackle it, puff it, pounce it, dab it, just do it! This is the Challenge for Caardvarks, they want us to do aything we want with paint. This is my first Caardvarks Challenge and I thoroughly enjoyed doing this card. I just love these colours, I think they're bright, strong, and vibrant. I like them so much we've decided to do our Bedroom and On-Suite with them, slightly more Brown than Turqoise though.

I used some of my Crafts Beautiful Free Papers from the September Issue, and the matching Tag, to which I've added a Rub-On. I Stamped 2 Large and 2 Small Daisie's from The Stampman's Double Delights Unmounted Stamps, painted them using Twinkling H2O's, Burnt Umber and Mediterranean Blue. I didn't have any matching Ribbons so I painted a Sticky Ribbon and some Daisy Ribbon.

Papertake Challenge - Group 3 Take 2

My October Papertake! Kit arrived today, and I must say it is Wow. I expect to see some really good results if last month was anything to go by. Dawn Thank You for putting the kit together and for the ATC, I thought that was a really nice touch.

Mum and Ethan Are Home

Now before anybody say's anything, I promise not to do this too often, or at least I promise to try not to, but going home for the first time is rather special. So here are two (small) pics of Ethan at home.

First Day at Home
'
I've been rather distracted the last few day's (I can't think why, LOL) and not done as much Crafting as I would have liked to have done. So, tomorrow is going to be catch up day and believe me I've got loads to catch up on.

Arty Girlz Challenge #3

This week's Arty Girls Challenge is "Tags", they have to be used on our Project. This is what I have come up.
'

I used an Artylicious Butterfly Bliss paper for the Background and a co-ordinating Tag for the "Happy Birthday", the font is AJR Handwriting 1(from Daisy Company) anf the Tags were Punched out of Pink Card and decorated with Glittered and Foiled Magic Motif Butterflies.
