Crafty Addicts Challenge - October

October is our first month for the CCF's Crafty Addicts Challenge. Louise heads up Group 1 and this is the Kit she's sending out on Monday. Can't wait for the Postman on Tuesday, he's not going to know what's hit him.

I think it looks great, already have some idea's but you'll have to wait till the 25th October to see the result.

Di Hickman Card Sketch - Sept #4

This is my First Di Hickman Sketch, and the first of many I hope. I enjoy the Sketches and really like to see everybody else's Take on them. Though I do think mine are still very mild compared to soem of the wonderful cards I've seen.
'

Again for this sketch I used Pink Petticoat Doodleicious Rainbow Papers, a Rub-on and some Paper Flowers.

DCM - In The Frame

Here is this week's Challenge from Daring Card Makers:
This week I’d like you to use a FRAME or FRAMES on your card. You can use any type of frame you so wish. How about a die cut frame or a hand cut frame. You can frame your card with brackets or flowers or how about some doodling - the choice is yours.
'
'
And here is my take on Frames. I've used Pink Petticoat Little Fleurs Papers and another Blooming Doodles Image Stamp, I just love these Images. They come with or without Borders and I decided to use the border to create my Frame. I coloured the Image using my new Derwent Aqua Tone Woodless Pencils, they are fab to use.

CCF - ATC's and Fat Pages

It's that time of the month again, and it's one mad rush to get everything finshed and in the mail on time. Every month I say to myself I'll get them done early, but something else always comes up. As a crafter I'm sure I'm not the only one.
'
These ATC's are for our Monthly Themed Swap - Cats 'n Dogs. I was struggling with this one as I hate to say this I'm not a Huge Animal Lover, I do like them butnot crazy about them. However due to that fact I don't have a huge amount of Cats 'n Dogs Craft goodies, I had to go and find some. First place I looked was Daisy Company and I found these two kits that I thought were really cute, "Eline's Cats and Labels" and "Olivia's Dogs" they are just adorable, Olivia does a Cats Kit aswell.
'

I don't know about anybody else, but I need to be in the mood for the task at hand, if not I don't really do as good a job as I'm capable of doing. This was the case with my Fairies ATC's. It was mostly due to the fact that I couldn't quite find what I was looking for, and due to time running out (no fault but my own) I had to make do with what I had. The Papers are from Funky Hand's CD "The Funky One" which I love, the papers are all really nice and the colours are super. The Fairies are from a Fairy Kit that I got from The Works for 59p.
'

I'm not very happy with these, but hopefully I'll make up for it with next month's.

Just Saying Hello.

I haven't got anything to Post right now, I've been busy tieing things up for work. I'm now officially on leave for 2 weeks. Woo Hoo!
'
However I would like to take this opportunity and say a very big Thank You to all who have looked at my Pages, and especially to those who have left such wonderful comments, I do appreciate it. I'm still pretty new to the Comments thing and I am trying to have a look at everybody's Blog and leave comments as well.
'
I am well and truly addicted to Challenges now, I think they're great for getting your brain and imagination working, and there are some amazing Challenge Blogs and Sites out there, some I've already found and those that I haven't found YET!

Birthday Card

This is just a quick Post as it's Colin's Mum's Birthday today and we're going to pop round shortly. This is the card that I have made for her.

It was made with Barbara's Roses Decoupage Kit, graphics by Lucy Hampton. I glittered the Sentiment and borders, and added "Mum". It's another kit from Daisy Company.

Arty Girlz Challenge #2

Arty Girlz is a new Challenge Blog that started last week, and this week's Challenge is Flowers.
'
My initial plan for this was to do some stamping. It seems like ages since I last did any, but I couldn't decide which Stamp to use. Finally decided on a stamp and had to come up with some background papers. I've been looking for an excuse to use my Artylicious Fantasy Floral CD by Glenda Waterworth, but somehow my stamp didn't quite go with the papers I had chosen. So I started all over again and didn't do stamping after all but did stick to Artylicious.

I printed 2 Background Papers, 1 Green and 1 Purple, cut them down to size keeping the whole flower image as the center piece. Then printed another Background Paper onto Card Stock, this time Lilac. Cut out 2 whole flowers each size and a center each, then decoupaged onto the Green Center Piece, I used Sakura Glaze Pens for the Leaf outline and center of the flowers. I also used some Silver peel-offs to finish off and added a Sentiment and Glittered the words "With Love".

CPS#32

I had a look the latest sketch for CPS last night, and was wondering which papers I would use, it was quite late so I thought I'd think about it in the morning. Just before going to bed I checked my mail and found I had won some Papers and Elements from Daisy Company for playing "Stop n Go" on the forum earlier. It was such a nice surprise as it was the first time I had played (so was quite sure what I was doing) and certainly didn't expect to win anything. Needless to say I didn't need to think about what papers to use this morning.

Sketch:

And the Result:

The front of the card ends where the Pink Striped (Vertical) paper does, the Pink Plaid pattern is printed onto Velum.

I used the "Posh Pink" Papers, Border, and Frame by Lynnie Smith, the Font is Audrey Jeanne’s Handwriting 1 Font ©Audrey Jeanne Roberts and both are from Daisy Company. The Dragonfly is a Rub-on, and I've embellished using Pink Diamonds, and Diamond Glazed the Sentiment, Border and Dragonfly Embellishment. The Sentiment isn't as skew as it looks.

Here's another one I did based on the same sketch. This time I used Pink Petticoat's September Giveaway Papers from Lola's Boudoir which is due to be released this week. I've been waiting for this ever since I discovered Pink petticoat.

The Image is from the Blooming Doodles set and it's a Girly Curly Sentiment, just like the Papers they're from Pink Petticoat.

3 Birds with 1 Card

Here's another Card Challenge that I've completed, well 3 actually. I was wondering to myself this morning about how I was going to get three card challenges done today. I remembered seeing the results of one of the other challenges I took part in, and one of the Ladies had used 2 challenges for her Card. So I thought what a brilliant idea, I'll try that.
'
Challenges:

1. Black and White for Creative Idea Sunday Challenge.
'''''''This one is self explanatory. (And Yes I know it's really late, but I ''''I liked the sound of it and so thought what the hell)
2. Buttons for Technique Thursday Challenge.
''''''''Again, Buttons speak for themselves.
3. Charity for Daring Card Makers Challenge.
''''''''"I DARE you to visit your local Charity Shop & make someone else's TRASH your STASH."
'
And here is the result.

I used Pink Petticoat's Rainbow Doodle and His & Hers Papers, the Font is Audrey Jeanne’s Handwriting 1 Font ©Audrey Jeanne Roberts from Daisy Company.

CPS#31

I'm really getting to like these Challenges. I've just added another one to my list and here is my first one.

From This:

To This:
'

For this card I used Funky Hand's "Very Funky" Papers and a Topper.

CCF - Fat Page and ATC Chain

Our latest Chain on CCF is to create a Fat Page and a Matching ATC. You have to make one for the person before you and one for the person that follows you. I find it hard to decide who gets which one I make so I decided to make them both the same with a small difference.

Any guesses as to who they're for?

I used Papers and Elements from "Lucy's DAISIE Dayz" kit by Lucy Hampton, and it's another one from Daisy Company.

Papertake! Challenge Group 3 - Take 1

I've completed my first Papertake Challenge and e-mailed it off to Steph. I'm waiting to hear what the rules are about posting pictures and when I can post them. So you might not be able to see a pic of it until they are all in and have been posted on the Papertake Blog.
'
I thoroughly enjoyed doing that and can't wait for the next one. And I definitely can't wait to see what everyone else has come up with. I think it's going to be interesting to see how others interpret the same materials.

Sketch This: Cards: 27

This is my first Sketch This: Cards Challenge, I'm quite pleased with the outcome, even if it is slightly plain. I enjoyed doing that and will definately being doing more.
'
From This:
'

To This:

I used Pink Petticoat's Doodleicious Rainbow Papers and a Girly Curly Sentiment.

Lola Rose Christmas Card

I killed two birds with one stone making this card. I used my First Lola Rose Occasions Image Stamp and my Doodle-Icious Christmas papers. I very impatiently waited for them to be released (just like everyone else I imagine), then promptly bought them the minute they were released and sadly this is the first time I've had a chance to use them.
'

Have added something to the bottom of the card, still not quite sure but it'll have to do for now.

(I know there's something missing but I've not quite stocked up on my Christmas Ribbons and Embelishments, but the minute I find the missing item I'll add it and repost the picture.)

New Lola Rose For Occasions Image Stamps

I've only just found out that Pink Petticoat have NEW Lola Rose Images! Needless to say I have already bought and downloaded them, so watch this space tomorrow. I can't wait to try them out. The Images look fabulous and there's a good selection as well.

More ATC's

You're going to be seeing alot of ATC's on this Blog, and Fat Pages, for that matter, I'm trying desperately to get back to Card Making, but I keep adding my name to swaps and chains and challenges. If your a Crafter, you know exactly where I'm coming from and why I do it.
'

'
All 4 of these have been made using Gina Jane's Daisy Garden Kit (I, II, and III) from Daisy Company and of course some silver peel off's.

CCF - Fat Page Chain

Here are two that I've done today for CCF's Fat Page Chain, I've still got a few more to make but I'm getting there.

This one was made using "Bette's Gingham Girl" Set, the flower is a Rub-on from the Garden Accents set and the Friends Forever Rub-on is from one of my magazine freebie's.

This next one was made from Audrey Jeanne’s "Gerbera Daisy" I set. I've only just got this set and have quite a few plans for how to use it. Both sets are available from Daisy Company.

New Baby Boy Card

With the Imminent arrival of my First Grandchild and it being a little boy, Blue Baby Cards have caught my attention lately.

This is another of Barbara's Decoupage Card Kits "Ahhh Teddy" Blue, Graphics are by Eline Pellinkhof and it's from Daisy Company.

Nephew's Birthday Card

I needed a card for my Partners Nephew, something that was going to be quick and didn't require alot of thought. You know what it's like when it comes to Cards for Men and Boys!
'

I used Barbara’s Decoupage--Leap Frog Jeans Boy and Girl Card Kit. The Graphic's are Gina Jane Johnson's and it's from Daisy Company. It was really easy to put together and it gave me a quick solution to my problem that could otherwise hae taken me a week to think about and then possibly still have nothing.

Crafty Addicts Challenge

I've just joined another Challenge, these challenges are turning out to be just as addictive as Cards, ATC's, Fat Pages, Swaps, and anything else Crafty.
'
This one works on the same principle as Papertake's Challenge, we all get the same kit and then we see what happens! We're on Group 1 at the moment and the Challenge is for October. Anyone interested please click on the link which will take you to the Crafters Companion Forum and the details for the Crafty Addicts Challenge.

Some ATC's

As I've been away for a couple of days and I'm only going to be able to do something new tomorrow, I thought I'd share some of my ATC's.
'
This was the very first ATC that I made, at the time I din't know quite what I was supposed to be doing, but after an absolute age I finaly finished it. I used Crafters Companions Backing Papers from the Floral CD.
'
It's one that I definately won't be swapping out, not just for sentimental reasons, but because it took so long too make. LOL
'
These next 3 are ones I made for the Crafters Companion Monthly Flitters and Flutters ATC Swap for August.
'

'

The Wings Stamp is from The Wendie Rhodes Collection "Metamorphosis Range" and the dragonfly stamp is from The Stamp Man's "Daisy Daydreams" Unmounted Stamps.

Papertake Challenge - The Kit

It's here, it's arrived! My Kit for Papertake Challenge Take 1 is here, and it's great. I got home this afternoon after being away (Work Related) for two days, and it had arrived this morning. Now for the hard part coming up with something imaginative and putting it together. Watch this space!

Birthday Companions

I belong to a Birthday Group on the Crafters Companion Forum called "Birthday Companions" there's 28 of us and we all send each other a card on our Birthday (Feel sorry for the postman LOL).
'
Well today is Katie B's Birthday and this is the Card I made for her last week.

I used the "Birthday Mice" 3D Kit from Cuddly Buddly, and for the Letters for Katie's name I used the "Reversible" Letters from Pink Petticoats "Simple Monograms" and printed them onto the back of the Backing Paper from the Kit.

One For My Mom

Well, it's here, finally.

Mom this one's for you. The 7 Emerald Hearts are for each day of the Week.....
'

I used Pink Petticoat Papers and Simple Monograms, and of course a Girly Curly Sentiment.

What A difference a Day Makes.... This was Brown last night, in case anyone's wondering, but this photo is a better reflection of it's actual colour.

Another Fat Page

Here I am again, with another Fat Page, don't know if anyone has noticed but I'm into blue today. Don't think it's a reflection of how I feel, I just love the colours of Gina Jane Johnson's Papers.

This time I used her Daisy Garden Kit (I, II, and III) also available from Daisy Company. The Daisies and Pot are decoupaged which doesn't show very well in the photo.

CCF - Fat Page Chain

Here's another Fat Page for the CCF Chain.

I've used Papers from Gina Jane Johnson's "Butterfly Blue" Mini Sampler Kit available from Daisy Company. I love these papers, I think the colours are lovely and work very well together.

Papertake Challenge!

I've just seen a picture of the kit that Group 3 is getting from Wendy and it looks great, really looking forward to receiving it and seeing what I can come up with.

Crafters Companion Card Challenge October 2007

Well here's my attempt at our first Crafters Companion Card Challenge, I'm not very happy with it and may just try another one. We had to make a card using the colours Pale Pink, Pale Blue and Lemon.

I used Papers and Images from Pink Petticoat.

A Birthday Card

My first Card in nearly a week! I've kept it very plain but I'm trying colours I don't usually use.

I've used the Doodleicious and Rainbow Doodles Papers and the Blooming Doodles Images from Pink Petticoat, the Ribbon is from DCWV Adhesive Ribbon's Range.

What are Fat Pages? I hear you ask.

A Fat Page is very like an ATC, with a few differences.

The size is 4" x 4", and is made from Sturdy Card. It can be made to a specific theme or anything in general. You decorate and embellish the front of the card leaving half an inch to the left hand side, this is for holes to be punched by the person who receives it. The back is decorated as well, but you don't need to be as extravagant as the front. The back of the Fat Page will also have the details just like an ATC and will be seen when the page is turned.

When you have collected enough pages of a certain theme you can then turn your pages into a Fat Page Book.

Create a Front and Back Cover from Sturdy Card or Mount Board, size 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", decorate and embellish according to the theme or to your own taste. Punch holes in your pages (2 or 3)and bind by either Ribbon or Book Rings. 2" Book Rings work best as books can be quite FAT depending on the number of pages or the embellishments on the page.

Fat Pages are swapped or given to someone just like ATC's.

CCF - Fat Page Chain

Since discovering Fat Pages everything else seems to have gone to pot (Except the Housework, that went when I discovered Crafting). I enjoy ATC's but find you can do more on a Fat Page, and no it's not just because it's bigger!

Here are two that I've done for the Fat Page Chain I belong to on the Crafters Companion Forum.

This one is made using Ashley Back Pack Papers available from Digital Scrapbook Place

And for this one I used Little Fleurs Papers and the Dragonfly is a Doodleicious Image Stamp, both from Pink Petticoat.

Papertake Challenge

As you can see from my list of Challenges I've joined the Papertake Challenge, really looking forward to receiving the kit and seeing what I can come up with. I took the plunge and managed to be the last member of Group 3.
'
Steph from Papertake still has some spaces left for Group 4 and Group 5 so if anyone would like to join please click on the Link and go and have a look. I think this is just what I need to take my Cardmaking to the next level. I can't wait to finding out who the other team members are and looking forward to some healthy competition.

I'm a New Blogger!

Well as you can see I have just created my Blog, it's currently "Work In Progress", but if you come back later I'm sure there will be more to see.
