Double Whammy - CPS and DCM

This week's Daring Card Makers Challenge was Peel Off's, set by Lythan. I used the Sketch from CPS to do this card. I'm quite pleased with it even if I say so myself. I actually finished this yesterday and took some photo's last night, but Peel Off's and Flashes just don't work that well together. I'm really glad I waited till I could take another photo because the one's I took last night just didn't do the card any justice at all.
'
I used Papers from a Kit called Lipstick Kisses @ Noon, what a fab name for a kit. It's by Polka Dot Plum and it's available at Scrap Orchard. My Daisies are from my Daisy Display Stamp set from The Stamp Man. I inked and embossed the Daisies and finally I added some Peel Off's.

Sketches! {by tamara} - Challenge #50

On my quest to find some suitable papers for my Red, White and Blue Note Book I found this adorable kit and just had to use them. This sketch I think was perfect for them.

'
The papers are from a kit called Doldrums, it's made by Ziggle Designs and comes from Scrap Orchard. The stamp is from the PrintWorks Collection - Caring Thoughts set.

CPS #70

Here's my take on this week's sketch. I really enjoyed this one, once I decided on the paper to use everything else fell into place.

'
I used Papers from Eline Pellinkhof's Babies Kit (Daisie Company). The Sentiment was stamped in Blue Chalk ink, quickie glued and then glittered. The Baby Blocks are from the Baby See D's set and the word Boy is part of Wendy Stenton's "It's a Boy" stamp. I also glittered the scalloped edge of the oval. Finally used some Ribbon and Peel-Off's to finish.

Paper Take Weekly - Katharina's Sketch #4

Here's this weeks Papertake Challenge, another sketch from Katerina. I'm trying to keep to the Quick Card theme, but it still takes me sooo long to decide on Papers! Once I've got that decision made the rest is pretty quick.
'

I apologise for the quality of the photo, but hopefully that will be rectified soon as my Online Photographic course over at JessicaSprague.com starts on Monday! I was so lucky to get in 200 spots sold out in less than 10 minutes.
'
'
Backing papers used on this card are from Kay Miller's Live for the Joy Kit. I embossed some brown card stock with the Swiss Dots Cutlebug Embossing Folder and added some Ribbon and a bow, two buttons with brown ribbon threaded through.

Stamp Something - Sketch Something Challenge

This week's challenge is a sketch. I love sketch challenges, sometimes I get them completely wrong but that's half the learning curve, knowing where you went wrong and trying not to make the same mistakes. I'm all pinked out at the moment so decided to go for the blues on this one.
'
'
I used the Summer Breeze Collection from NitWit Collections for the backing papers. The stamp is another one from Stamposaurus called Ellie 3, I stamped with Brilliance Sky blue and coloured the Daisies with a yellow Sakura Star Dust Pen.

CPS #68

Here's my take on the CPS Sketch, it's not exactly a Father's Day Card, men's cards are not my strongest point at the moment. I'm into Thank You cards and decided to go Black and White.
'
'
The Sketch is quite basic, so I decided to keep the Card plain and simple too. Basic White Card, matted and layered with Black card, white card put through the Cuttlebug using the Paisley Embossing Folder and then I took my Stazon ink pad over the top. The stamp is Aspire by Penny Black and the sentiment is from my "Thank You" Hero Arts Clear Stamps set. I added some sticky back gems as a finishing touch.

CPS #67

Here's my take on CPS's sketch #67. Still need to get back into the swing, I'm a bit rusty at the moment. I do enjoy using Silver Mirri card at the moment. The way the photograph came out it looks like Gold and Silver. I don't think I'll ever be able to ge that effect again even if I try. It looks great.
'
'
Today I've used backing papers from Sweet Shoppe Designs Sugar and Spice Kit by Zoe Pearne. All mounted onto Silver Mirri card, stamped sentiment is from Unmounted Stamp Company, and I used some Silver Peel Off Butterflies and Flowers to finish it off.

CPS #65

Here's my card for the sketch. I managed to find some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Pads for half the normal price so I bought as many colours as they had in stock (18 in total) if they had more I would have got them too. I've only just started playing with them and I'm making a few mistakes here and there but enjoying it none the less.
'
'
I've again used a Kay Miller Design Kit, this time the Light of My Life Kit. I only used one backing paper. I distress inked the White card stock for the panels. The paper and card has been mounted onto Gold Mirri Card. The sentiments are Hero Arts Clear Stamps.

Wendy's Sketch Challenge #10

Here's my card for wendy's Sketch. I should have Ironed my ribbon before I put it on the card! Sorry about the flash. I'm going to retake some of today's photo's in the morning, I had to take them all at an angle because of the Mirri Card.

The Floral paper is from Kay Millers Midnight in the Garden and the Purple Background paper is from the Wings kit. Sentiment is a Hero Arts Clear Design Stamp.

Sketch This #50

I decided to try the Lay Out Sketch for making a card, I'm pretty happy with the result and of course I got to use more Kay Miller Designs!

This time I used Kay's Enchanted Kit, mounted on Silver Mirri Card. The Flower border is from the kit and the stamps used are Clear Stamps. I added two Flower Brads and some Sticky Ribbon Flowers.

Two for One

I suprised myself and managed to do loads today! So here's the 1st of 5 posts. I did this challenge using My Paper Worlds Card Sketch. Papertakes Challenge this week is Lilac and Lime, I think these colours are brilliant together! This weeks challenge is another colour combination! Luscious Lime and Lilac - or any shades of green and purple! The challenge this week is sponsored by Katty at SkattyKats.
'
'
The Papers are from Kay Millers Midnight in the Garden Kit, I mounted them onto Silver Mirri Card. Magnolia stamp coloured with Brush Pens, I added a chipboard tag and some ribbon with a Star Brad.

Wendy`s Sketch Challenge 9

Here's my Card for Wendy's Sketch. I've used some more of Kay Millers Amazing Papers!!!! These come from the "Wings" Kit, which is available from Kay Miller Designs. I've layered onto Silver Mirri Card and the torn strip is Vellum that I printed one of the papers onto. The image is from Panduro Girls Collection which I coloured using Twinkling H2O's.

You can expect to see alot more of Kay's papers as I've got loads of kits to get through, it's just deciding which one first.

sketch this: 48

Another excuse to use my Kay Miller Designs. I really enjoyed doing this sketch, so much so that I'm going to be doing a LO aswell. Watch This Space!!

'

The papers are from the All Organic kit by Kay Miller Designs, the stamp is Gossamer by Penny Black, which I watercoloured with Derwent Aqua Tone Pencils and the Sentiment is a Hero Arts Clear Design Stamp. I used brown velvet ribbon and a wooden Butterfly Button from my Bit Box.

My Paper World Sketch #9

I've been playing around with Photoshop and very gradually I'm starting to learn how to use it. I managed to recreate Nicola's Sketch as a Template, use my digital kit and this is the result.

I then created the Hybrid version, which due to my amazing photographic skills (haha) has come out darker than the Digital one.

'

I've only just discovered Kay Miller Designs and will certainly be using alot of her kits, they are super fab!!! If you think these papers and images are adorable just wait till you see what else she has. The Kit I used for this card is Little Boy Joy. i went over the letters of the Sentiment with my Sakura Clear Gel pen (not that you can see it in the photo), the stars have been Crystal Lacquered along with the puppies collar and nose.

Two for One Challenge!

As you can tell from the Title, I did two challenges in one with this card. The First challenge is Daring Cardmakers - Pretty Pastels and the second is Wend's Sketch Challenge. Both have links on the left. I do apologise but my photographic skills need looking at, the colours are so much nicer in real life.

I think most will recognize the Papers as those from Pink Petticoat's Big Dots Mini Kit. There are 43 colours in the kit and they are all fab, it's really hard to choose which colours to use. I created the Sentiment myself in my Graphics programme and the stamp is of course A Tender hug by Penny Black.

CPS #58

Here's this weeks CPS Sketch, I quite liked this one, a bit different to what we normally do. It was harder than I thought to come up with an idea after seeing the great DT cards. So I decided to keep mine nice and simple and a bit on the less side. Or should that be alot on the less side???

I used plain white textued card stock for all my layers but coloured the outer edges of the green and pink layers with the same Twinkling H2O's I used to colour the stamp. I also painted some buttons with the Burnt Umber H2O that was used for the center of the flowers. The Peel Off sentiment was coloured Pink using my Metallic Permapaque Hobbymarkers from Sakura.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch Challenge!

This week Papertake are doing a Sketch ! And it's their first one! I think Katherina did a great job with one and I hope they have more Sketch Challenges.

For this card I used Gina Jane's Cottage Roses Paper Pack, I created the Happy Bithday Circle in my Graphic's programme again using one of the papers from the pack. I stamped my Favourite Daisy stamp onto the same paper coloured the edges using a Sakura Stardust pen attached with Silicon.
Gina's papers are available from Daisie Company and the Stamp is from the Aspects of Design 28 - Double Delights Stamp set from The Stamp Man.

My Paper World Sketch #7 - Another One!

Thought I'd do another card for this Sketch. The card is Pearlescent so doesn't photograph too well.

The papers are from Christine Beasley's Classic Moments Kit available from Digital Scrapbook Pages. The stamp is from Woodware's Baby Zone Clear stamps which I coloured using Pastel Crystal Laquers.

CPS #57

Here's this weeks CPS Sketch, I must say that this was one of my quickest cards yet. I already had the Penny Black "Labour of Love" stamped image and was halfway through painting it with Twinkling H2O's.

All I had to do was finish off the painting, mount onto red card, add the ribbon and wrap my Crimson Pink Petticoat Doodleicious Rainbow paper around my card. If you look at the card you might see that the backing paper isn't stuck down.

My Paper World Sketch #7

Here's my take on this week's sketch. I think I may just attempt another one as I'm not 100% happy with this one.

The papers that I used come from Amanda Thorderson's Head Over Heels Kit available from Digital Scrapbook Pages. The Flower Image was actually cut out of one of the Backing Papers in the kit, I then drew in a stem with my Hunters Green Sakura gel pen. The Butterfly is a wooden button which I painted with Twinkling H2O's to match the Card Stock that I used for the Matting of the image.
